I find it very Important to take recognition to the fact that a very large amount of our generations out look on beauty has spiraled into this unsettling reality. Most are bombarded from age with this sort of propaganda that if you don’t look or act a certain way then you should be excluded or devalued, and that’s just not true. It is a profound heart break to know so many people who objectify themselves as not being one who is deserving of a simple complement. In my opinion we so desperately need a shift in those mindset’s who pin point physical beauty as one specific look, and judge people who don’t match up to it. They are completely oblivious to the dangerous repercussions that mindset leads to. It makes you unaware of all this other beauty that surrounds you, and with some makes you blind to the beauty in yourself. The idea to automatically trust in a magazine or take someones word as only definition beauty without really thinking about it yourself in my opinion isn’t how you should perceive beauty. Instead take pride in your individuality, never be ashamed or feel devalued because your outlook on beauty isn’t the same as others we are individuals were not supposed to be this production line of the same person. I think its ignorance that makes us overwhelmed once we learn the truth then we can know how to contribute, realize how very much it is within our power to do it. Anything can be done when a critical mass of people get behind it. It really gets under my skin to know I live in a world where many people feel insecure and have smiles deteriorating rapidly under the impact of this misinterpretation of beauty that in many ways leads to havoc on this planet. Its by no means the only issue but its definitely one that I feel is important to address.
